10 Tips for Healthy Teeth

10 ways to help your teeth’s health.

  1. Brushing your teeth with a Soft, Sonic Electric Toothbrush.
    • The best is sonic electric toothbrush that removes more plaque that normal brushing
    • a spinning head(oscillating) is better than manual but not better than sonic (make sure the head spins and not just shakes/vibrates).
  2. Flossing Daily with single-use Flossers.
    • It can be hard to remember to floss, I recommend getting single-use flossers which makes it easier for kids and adults because you can do with one hand (instead of 2) and it has a sharp pick on other side for plaque build up removal. Also there is biodegradable flossers now to help the environment.
      • Can get at Dollar stores or Online.
  3. Scraping or Brushing your Tongue.
    • It’s easy to forget the tongue, but there is so much bacteria growing on tongue and shares space with your teeth. Look into scraping which most people do not know about. Recommended by the ADA.
  4. Fluoride Rinse.
    • Fluoride is naturally found in water. I used to be against Fluoride but not anymore. Just remember you don’t swallow it, you rinse with it and spit it out (The pro’s outweigh the con’s and is such a low percentage of fluoride).
  5. Drink Water.
    • There is many benefits to just drinking water. Getting Alkaline Water is the best to lower acidity in your mouth (Cavities thrive on regular to acidic pH levels, most bacteria stops growing at a pH of 5.0).
  6. Eating Butter or Ghee.
    • Ghee has many health benefits and better than butter, but both help.
  7. Healthy Sugar-Free Candy (Gum, Taffy, Mints, Hard Candy, or Lollipops).
    • This increases Saliva which fights cavities and helps remove food particles)

  8. Vitamins D, C, A, & K.
  9. Minerals: Calcium, Potassium, & Phosphorus.
    • Again, you can find in natural foods or supplements.
  10. Baking Soda, Fluoride, & Peroxide.
    • Arm & Hammer brand has a Toothpaste with all 3 ingredients! Here is a link on Amazon (but can get at your local grocery store cheaper):

Note: Always advise your doctor and dentist on all this advice (since advice can change over the years or might not be good for certain health issues). Get a dental cleaning every 6 months, Dentist can clean our teeth better than we can and give advice. Get the work done if you need it (just stay away from metal fillings), dental health can affect your whole bodies health!
